At the end of 2008, Michael Chung had found that many other countries and regions had got many good Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) websites, but there was no Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) website in Australia. Australia is a prosperous and developed country but no one Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) website, "how did the people of other countries and regions think of us?" Michael Chung could not accept this and he was not feeling nice as he is Xiangqi lover in Australia. So Michael Chung talked with George Lu about this and was happy to work together for the First Australian Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) website for Australian Chinese Chess Association. Hence they had decided to open the First Australian Chinese Chess website "http://www.australianchinesechess.org" on 1 January 2009 to help more and more Aussies to play Chinese Chess, and of course, to make them happy, to grow the friendships between them and Chinese people, and between Australia and China.

And Michael Chung hopes that there are many better and better Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) websites in Australia in the future.

Originally, Australian Chinese Chess Website was originally formed for a non-profit organisation "Australian Chinese Chess Association" to fill a community need for healthy activity and grow friendships between people.

From 1 January 2009 to 1 May 2011, George Lu has supported the website annual fees, Michael Chung has supported the works mostly as volunteer, and Wu Qingkai also has done some works as well.

On 1 May 2011, the new management committee of Australian Chinese Chess Association decided to give up "Australian Chinese Chess Association Website". From 1 May 2011, "Australian Chinese Chess Association Website" has been changed to "Australian Chinese Chess Website", it is independent of Australian Chinese Chess Association, George Lu and Michael Chung will continue to support "Australian Chinese Chess Website" to serve the Xiangqi community for healthy activity and grow friendships between people.

"Australian Chinese Chess Website" is a non profit, non religious, non political platform of Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) Community in Australia. "Australian Chinese Chess Website" focuses on reporting Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) activities for public welfare, developing relationship with other Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) communities nationally and internationally, promoting Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) culture and activities, and building friendship between Australia and China.
